• General English

ELSIS General Intensive English course is recommended as the first step in language learning. For those just starting out with English, General Intensive English gives you a solid grounding in grammar and social and functional communication.

MINIMUM ENROLMENT: 2 weeks

COURSE DURATION: 2-84 weeks

COURSE HOURS: 20 hours per week

LEVELS: 6 levels (Beginner to Advanced)

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: None

General Intensive English allows you to improve your communication and conversation skills for everyday situations. Learn to communicate clearly and professionally, learn new vocabulary, idioms, and Australian culture. All of this takes place in a fun interactive learning environment.

Our qualified teachers will help you speak English with confidence as well as read, write and listen with accuracy.

Levels:

Level 1 – Starters (Beginners)

Level 2 – Elementary

Level 3 – Pre-Intermediate

Level 4 – Intermediate

Level 5 – Upper-Intermediate

Level 6 – Advanced

• English for Academic Purposes (EAP)

MINIMUM ENROLMENT: 6 weeks

COURSE DURATION: 24 weeks

COURSE HOURS: 20 hours per week

LEVELS: 2 Levels – Upper Intermediate and Advanced

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:  Upper Intermediate level and above

The EAP Course focuses on helping students to develop the necessary skills for academic study in mainstream courses at colleges and universities in Australia.

• The EAP 1 Course is aimed at preparing students to meet the English requirements necessary to enter VET (Vocational Education and Training) course. To enter EAP1, students will have achieved a minimum 5.5 IELTS score. General English students may enter EAP 1 if they are at a solid intermediate level, or they have studied in one of the available Academic courses (IELTS, FCE, CAE) at ELSIS.
• The EAP2 Course is aimed at preparing students to meet the English language requirement necessary to enter college or university. To Enter the EAP2 course, students will have achieved a minimum 6 IELTS score. General English students may enter EAP2 if they are at a solid upper-intermediate level, or they have studied in one of the available Academic courses (IELTS, FCE,CAE) at ELSIS.

• IELTS Preparation Course

MINIMUM ENROLMENT: 2 weeks

COURSE DURATION: 12 – 24 weeks

COURSE HOURS: 20 hours per week

LEVELS: Intermediate level and above

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Intermediate level and above

The IELTS Preparation course equips students to take the internationally recognised International English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination. The course includes authentic IELTS-style examinations which students take every 3 weeks.

It is not only for students who wish to take the IELTS test. It is also ideal for any student who would like to have a better all-round command of English.

This course includes authentic IELTS-style tests which students take in class every 3 weeks. Therefore, completing this course will also give students an indication of their overall level of English.

The IELTS exam tests students on the 4 following skills:

• Listening
• Speaking
• Reading
• Writing

In addition, the official IELTS certificate is recognised worldwide as a means of entry to vocational and university courses. Also, it may be used to apply in many countries either for work visas and immigration purposes.

• Cambridge Exam Preparation

ELSIS Cambridge Exam Preparation Courses will provide you with all the skills needed to pass a PET, FCE or CAE exam. Cambridge qualifications are recognised by employers, colleges, and universities (especially in Europe and South America), and the certificate remains valid indefinitely.

The Cambridge Exam Preparation course is excellent if you need a formal English language qualification. This course is designed to prepare you for the examinations which are conducted by the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations.

COURSE DURATION: 10-12 weeks

COURSE HOURS: 20 hours per week

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Intermediate level and above
