  • Why should I choose Academies Australasia?

Academies Australasia has built a reputation as one of Australia’s leading providers of training, and our colleges are recognised for teaching excellence.

 

  • Do I need to meet an English standard?

If you are an international student, you will be required to provide evidence of your level of English proficiency. 
If you need to improve your English, you can study here with us at our English colleges. In some cases, you will also have to meet Australian Immigration Department requirements. Usually, a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 Academic is required for degree level study and a score of 5.5 Academic for Certificate & Diploma level.

 

  • Is there a maximum age for entry to your courses?

Within Australia and here at Academies Australasia there are no age barriers. However, if you are coming to Australia on a student visa, your visa must be approved by the Department of Immigration.

 

  • What is the cost?

  • Do students live on our campus?

No. we are not a residential college.

 

  • Is health insurance included?

  • How far is the campus from the city?

In Sydney & Melbourne we are located in the heart of the Central Business Districts. In Singapore we are located in the education precinct, on Middle Road.

 

  • How far is the beach from the Sydney campus?

Popular beaches are approximately 15 minutes from the campus by public transport.

 

  • Am I allowed to work while studying at Academies Australasia?

Yes. As an international student in Australia you are permitted to work up to 40 hours per fortnight once your course has commenced. While the course you are studying is in session you cannot work more than 40 hours per fortnight. No work limits apply during recognised periods of vacation offered by your education provider. Family members will be allowed to work up to 40 hours per fortnight through the year.

 

  • Can I work in Australia after I have finished my course successfully?

While international students can work in Australia during their industry placements, it is necessary for graduates to apply for permanent residency to live and work in Australia. Formal qualifications help graduates meet the requirements for this application. For visa options, contact the Australian Immigration Department.

 

  • What is included in my course of study?

Tuition fees, course material costs, field trips, uniforms and textbooks where noted.

 

  • What qualification will I get when I finish?

You will get a nationally recognised qualification.

 

  • When do I need to apply?

You can apply at any time; there is no application deadline.

 

  • Are there scholarships available?

Yes. Please contact us to enquire about your eligibility to apply.

 

  • Are there any additional costs apart from course fees?

Yes. If you would like us to arrange for airport pick-up upon your arrival into Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Perth the pick-up cost ranges from $120 to $150. Some of the courses may also require a material/activity fee such as the Tour Guiding courses (please refer to the course brochure). More importantly, you must budget for living expenses for the duration of your course.

 

  • How are the classes structured?

Sydney

The academic year is divided into 4 terms, ELICOS enrolments are available weekly. The campuses operates between 9am and 10pm Monday to Friday.

Melbourne

Higher Education classes have 2 semesters, whilst Vocational classes have four terms per year. ELICOS enrolments are available weekly. The campuses operates between 9am and 10pm Monday to Friday.

All students are issued with an ACA email address. All communication from the college will be made via this email:

  • How do I purchase a copy and print card?

If you wish to print, buy a Copy Card at the reception for $15 in CASH ONLY ($10 for Credit & $5 for Deposit). Black and White: 15 cents per page Colour: 75 cents per page.

Note: If you wish to top up, use the blue Top-Up Machine that is located at the Student Lounge. It accepts CASH ONLY under $10. If the printers don’t work, please go to Room 104 and ask for help.
