VISA APPLICANTS

This information is for individuals who have already applied for an Established Business in Australia visa (subclass 845) and are waiting for a decision.

ADDING MEMBERS OF YOUR FAMILY UNIT TO A VISA APPLICATION

You have the option to add members of your family unit to your visa application at any time before a decision is made. To include dependent children, you must complete Form 47BT Application for a Business Skills (provisional) visa. Other family members can be added by completing Form 47BT Application for a Business Skills (provisional) visa. It is important to note that these family members must meet the requirements for inclusion in the application and provide documentary evidence of their relationship to you. They must also meet health and character requirements, and may be required to take the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test to demonstrate their English proficiency.

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS

While most applicants for this visa are not required to complete additional health examinations, it is essential to meet certain health requirements. It is advised not to arrange a health examination until specifically asked to do so.

CHARACTER REQUIREMENTS

Meeting certain character requirements is mandatory for this visa. This includes providing a police certificate from each country where you have resided for 12 months or more since turning 16 years of age.

DEBTS TO THE AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT

Before the visa can be granted, it is imperative to have no outstanding debts to the Australian Government or to have made arrangements to repay any outstanding debts.

COST

The cost of the visa application includes an additional applicant charge of AUD3,015 for individuals aged 18 and over, and AUD1,510 for individuals under 18.

OTHER COSTS

In addition to the visa application charge, there may be other costs such as health assessments, police certificates, or any other required certificates or tests. It is the applicant's responsibility to make the necessary arrangements.

WHERE TO LODGE YOUR APPLICATION

To lodge your completed forms and documents, you can do so in person or by registered post, courier, or fax to the Adelaide office in South Australia. The application should be directed to the attention of Client Services, Adelaide Business Skills Processing Centre. It is important to include the required documents listed in the Document checklist and pay the visa application charge using credit card, money order, or bank cheque.

AFTER YOU HAVE APPLIED

Once you have lodged your application and documents, you will receive an acknowledgement of receipt from the department.

WAIT FOR A DECISION

If you apply for this visa from outside Australia, it is advised not to make any travel arrangements until you receive a written notification of visa grant. Wait for a decision from the department before making any significant changes to your current situation. If you apply for this visa in Australia, you may be eligible for a Bridging visa that allows lawful stay in the country while your application is processed.

PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION

You have the option to provide more information at any time until a decision is made on the application. If there is a need to correct information previously provided, Form 1023 - Notification of incorrect answer(s) should be used. The department may also request additional information, and it is important to respond by the given deadline. If another person provides information that could result in a visa refusal, you will usually have the opportunity to comment on the information. In some cases, an interview may be required, and it is important to bring identification and requested documents if asked to attend an interview in person.

REPORT CHANGES IN YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES

Any changes in your circumstances, such as a new residential address, a new passport, or significant life events, should be reported to the department. This can be done via ImmiAccount or by using Form 929 - Change of address and/or passport details or Form 1022 - Notification of changes in circumstances.

VISA DECISION

If the visa is granted, you will be informed of the conditions attached to the visa, including when you can use it, the visa grant number, and your entitlements. If the visa is not granted, you will be notified of the reasons for refusal, your review rights (if any), and the time limit for lodging an appeal. In cases where applicable, your sponsor can apply for the decision to be reviewed.

DOCUMENT CHECKLIST

When applying for this visa, it is necessary to provide supporting documents. Certified copies of original documents should be provided, and police certificates should be original. Documents not in English must be accompanied by accredited English translations. The document checklist should be used to ensure that the application is complete.

This section is for individuals who have already been granted an Established Business in Australia visa (subclass 845).
